Design Blog #5: Next Steps
10/4/20261 min read
Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I've checked in! I do have some good news to share: I'm on the next step of my book! After receiving some excellent cover art (see the previous blog post) with some interior artwork on the way, I'll be working towards my next step: preparing a proposal for Ace licensing through Pinnacle Entertainment!
This proposal includes a sample of my adventure, including a few pages of rules, characters, and things like that. So wish me luck - hopefully you’ll see Ozymandias Games on the Pinnacle website soon!
My next convention is coming up in eleven days: I’ll be at Gamehole Con in Madison, Wisconsin! My games are all full, unfortunately (or fortunately, I suppose), but I’ll be solely running The Last Voyage of the Charon with the Savage Alliance. My next convention won’t be until GaryCon, but I may set the adventure up online to get in some more playtesting at some point.
Overall, the adventure feels solid: the final draft is completed, at least for now. Although this is an immense relief, it feels like there’s still so much to do before this goes to a crowdfunding website. But every little task I finish gets me one step closer, so that’s always a comfort. I hope to launch the crowdfunding campaign by this time next year, if not sooner. The way things are going, hopefully sooner!
In the meantime, you can help me by sharing my blog, adding Ozymandias Games on social media, and spreading the word about what I hope will be an awesome adventure, with many more to come!
Here’s another sneak peek I shared on Facebook recently: I jazzed up the cover with a cool retro paperback filter in Photoshop. ‘Till next time!
