Just Getting Started

Hi, I’m Tanner Adams, proprietor of Ozymandias Games! This is my first blog post for my new company. Things are starting slowly, but I hope to have lots of fun, creative games, products, and adventures for you to try in time. If you’re reading this, thanks for checking it out. You won’t regret it!

A little about me: I have been playing tabletop role-playing games since my sophomore year of high school. Since my first fumbling attempt at DMing with the superheroic adventures of Mutants & Masterminds (a great system I play to this day!) I have both played in and DMed many epic tales through the years. Since moving to Wisconsin, I have become involved in several local conventions, including running my own! Although this won’t be ready to playtest in time for GaryCon, I hope to run it at EggCon and Gamehole Con in 2026. I also run a library-sponsored convention out of Horticultural Hall in Lake Geneva called Bards & Bookwyrms. Check it out, we have free snacks!

As of the 9th of December, I have just finished the first draft of my second adventure, The Last Voyage of the Charon, a Savage Worlds adventure heavily inspired by two of my favorite works of horror media. Which two? Well, let’s just say I didn’t exactly try to hide where my inspiration came from!

The monolithic megacorporation Wagner-Sørensen hires the intrepid crew of the Charon on a routine mission to survey the moon SEK6891. Though the planet was supposed to be uninhabited, they find the wreck of the science vessel Polaris and decide to investigate. On foot, they find evidence of a primitive alien culture in the moon’s caves, all long dead and covered in a pink fungus. They reach the Polaris and see the outside of the ship covered in a similar oozing fungus, and from there, the horror begins as the crew’s personal nightmares and personal traumas come to life.

The player characters in this adventure are a crew of five: a Chief Mechanic, a Medical Officer, a Science Officer, an Android, and a Marine. All of them have valuable skills and abilities needed to traverse the wreck of the Polaris and find out what happened to the crew. Using the action-packed rules of Savage Worlds, the crew discovers why they were really sent to SEK6891 and, with a bit of luck, survives the nightmarish horrors they face there.

I mentioned earlier in this post that this is my second adventure. I wouldn’t be writing this if it weren’t for the late James M. Ward. I was lucky enough to be his friend for a few years before his unfortunate passing, and with his encouragement, I sold my first adventure manuscript to Pinnacle Entertainment, publisher of my favorite setting, Deadlands. Our adventure should be released sometime in 2026, but until then, I’ll be working hard on getting the first Ozymandias Games products together.

So let me be the first to introduce you to Ozymandias Games, and I sincerely hope you enjoy everything that comes next!
